Zapier Integration
Connect QR Chameleon to 6,000+ apps with Zapier
Send every scan, click, and new link straight to your CRM, Google Sheets, Slack, or wherever your team works — no code. QR Chameleon's Zapier integration has triggers for new scans, links, and QR codes, plus actions to create links and codes from any workflow.
Listed in the Zapier App Directory. Free account includes REST API access.
How it works
Set it up once, then let it run
No code, no developer, no invite code. Connect your API key once, choose what starts the Zap and what it does, and Zapier handles the rest on its normal schedule. New to this? Our step-by-step guide walks through four common automations.
Browse the integration on ZapierConnect your key
Paste your qrc_ API key in Zapier once. It labels the connection with your account email.
Pick a trigger
Start the Zap on a new scan or click, a new short link, or a new QR code.
Choose an action
Send the event to any of 6,000+ apps, or create a link or code back in QR Chameleon.
It runs on its own
Zapier checks for new events every few minutes and fires your workflow, with no duplicates.
Triggers & actions
Everything you can wire up
Three triggers to start a Zap, two actions to create links and codes, and a search for the search-or-create pattern.
New Scan or Click
Fires when a QR code is scanned or a short link is clicked. Each event carries the code, destination, device, and city, region, and country, so you can log it anywhere. Choose scans, clicks, or both.
New Short Link
Fires when a new short link is created in your account. Post it to a content calendar, a Slack channel, or a campaign tracker the moment it exists.
New QR Code
Fires when a new QR code is created. Kick off a print job, add it to an asset register, or notify the team that a code is ready to deploy.
Create Short Link
Create a branded short link from any Zap, with an optional title, custom back-half, and UTM parameters. Turn a new spreadsheet row or CRM record into a trackable link automatically.
Create QR Code
Generate a dynamic QR code from a workflow. Because it is dynamic, you can re-point it later without reprinting, so a code created by a Zap keeps working for the life of the asset.
Find Short Link
Look up an existing short link by code or destination inside a Zap. Pair it with Create Short Link for the search-or-create pattern, so you never make a duplicate.
Use cases
What teams automate first
Scans into your CRM
Log every scan as an activity or lead in HubSpot, Salesforce, or Pipedrive, so sales sees real-world engagement next to the record.
Slack alerts on scan
Ping a channel when a specific code is scanned, with the city and device in the message, so the team reacts to activity in real time.
Scans to Google Sheets
Append every scan as a row in a spreadsheet for a lightweight, shareable report that updates itself with no dashboard login.
Follow-up emails
Trigger a Gmail or Outlook message when a code is scanned at an event or on packaging, turning a physical scan into a timely touchpoint.
Links from your stack
Create a branded short link automatically from a new blog post, product, or form entry, complete with UTM tags for the campaign.
Pipe events anywhere
Send scan and click events to Airtable, a data warehouse, or an internal tool, so your QR data lives alongside the rest of your analytics.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
QR Chameleon is listed in the Zapier App Directory, so you connect it like any other Zapier app. In the Zap editor, pick QR Chameleon as your trigger or action, then paste your API key — it starts with qrc_ and is generated in your dashboard under API. Zapier validates the key and labels the connection with your account email. No code and no invite required.
Three triggers start a Zap: New Scan or Click, New Short Link, and New QR Code. Two actions let a Zap create things in QR Chameleon: Create Short Link and Create QR Code. A Find Short Link search supports the search-or-create pattern. From there, send scans and leads to any of Zapier's 6,000+ apps, or create links and codes from a spreadsheet row, a form submission, or a CRM record.
The integration itself is free, and every QR Chameleon plan including the free tier includes REST API access, which is what Zapier connects to. Zapier checks for new events on a schedule, so a busy always-on Zap can add up against your monthly request allowance. If you run frequent triggers we recommend the Blend plan or higher, where the allowance comfortably covers regular polling. A Zapier account is also required and has its own plans.
They are polling triggers: Zapier checks QR Chameleon for new scans, clicks, links, or codes every few minutes on its normal schedule and runs your Zap when it finds something new. Each event carries a stable id, so Zapier never processes the same scan twice.
Any of the 6,000+ apps in the Zapier ecosystem, including Google Sheets, Slack, Airtable, HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Notion, Gmail, and Microsoft tools. QR Chameleon reaches these through Zapier rather than native one-to-one connectors, which is what lets a single integration cover thousands of destinations.
A scan or click event includes the short code and destination, the event type, approximate city, region, and country, device and browser details, and the timestamp. Bot traffic is filtered out, and events respect your plan's data-history window. That is enough to log a row in a sheet, enrich a CRM record, or alert a channel.
